The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Creates exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted high‑quality eyewear that exceeds our customers’ expectations.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Welcome all customers and set expectations
Custom‑fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses
Act as a leader in optical acumen
Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions
Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and use of appropriate tools
Proactively explore root causes of issues, think forward, ensure customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded, and remain solution driven
Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities
Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies
Maintain pride in store appearance, help keep store clean, attractive, and organized
Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices
Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and eager for continual learning, improvement, and results
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discount, promotion, and inventory management
Basic Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
State licensure
Optical dispensing experience
Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder
Knowledge of current store merchandise
Strong basic math skills
Awareness of current fashion trends
Sales skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators
Embrace new technology and change
Preferred Qualifications
Previous customer service and retail experience
