The Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist provides clinical substance abuse assessment and referral for parents involved with
Child Welfare . The ideal candidate must work independently, be familiar with Child Protective Services and permanency planning, and have experience with adolescents and adults with co‑occurring diagnoses. Experience with motivational interviewing is essential to engage families and help keep them safely intact. The role also requires proficiency in assessment and crisis resolution, and knowledge of ASAM treatment facilities. The specialist will collaborate with approximately 60 Child Welfare Workers and provide case consultations. Responsibilities
Conduct clinical substance abuse assessments and referrals for families. Collaborate with Child Welfare Workers to develop and implement treatment plans. Provide case consultations and support to agency staff. Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation of contacts and recommended services. Essential Functions
Report‑writing Testifying in court Reviewing lab screen (drugs & alcohol) results Ongoing research and workshops to stay current on substances, testing, and treatment options Providing educational workshops to staff, as needed Required Education & Experience
License as required by state law Licensed professional in the area of employment No equivalent education or experience accepted Must submit all prior work experience with application and resume Preferred Education & Experience
Fully licensed LCAS Spanish‑speaking desirable Knowledge of community resources for substance use How We Will Know You’re “The One”
Experience with co‑occurring health and mental health problems Application of SAMHSA best practice indicators In‑depth knowledge of drug and alcohol testing for monitoring treatment plans and medical instructions Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience with home‑visiting services Sufficient knowledge of the substance abuse population, treatment planning, and the field of human social services to facilitate community rehabilitation About This Position
