Responsibilities & Requirements
Clinically in training minister responsible for providing spiritual care to our primary customers, partners, and team members. Participates as a member of the healthcare team in evaluating spiritual needs of patients and providing appropriate interventions to meet such needs always under the supervision of the CPE preceptor and CPE educator. Fosters a sense of mission that enhances a culture of trust, experience of belonging, and a sense of mission within the hospital and the healthcare team. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Minimum Education
Undergrad or master’s degree (done or in process) in the theological or pastoral field or equivalent.
1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education
Equivalent Degrees That Will Be Considered
Masters or Doctoral degree in nursing
Masters or Doctoral degree in Counseling or Psychology
Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work
Or meaningful and comparable ministerial-pastoral experience assessed by the CPE center's admissions committee.
Minimum Work Experience
Congregational pastoral experience preferred.
Required Skills
Personal commitment to God. Personal integrity, emotional stability, sound physical health, and an ability to work under stress. Effectively relates to persons of diverse religious, educational, and cultural backgrounds. Demonstrates ability to earn respect of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
