Behavioral Health Services Supervisor – Incompetent to Stand Trial Diversion Program Join the County of Riverside as a Behavioral Health Services Supervisor to oversee and set up our Incompetent to Stand Trial Diversion Program in Banning, CA. The program provides mental health services to incarcerated consumers at risk of entering the 1370 competency process, helping clients avoid extended stays in custody while restoring competency. This position oversees clinical services aimed at stabilizing clients and preventing competency restoration in the legal system.

Responsibilities

Supervises a multidisciplinary team and coordinates behavioral health treatment, social and rehabilitation services, and consultation.

Evaluates unit activities, recommends changes to programs, policies and procedures.

Assesses staff performance, provides guidance, and participates in hiring and training.

Provides clinical leadership, crisis intervention, and ensures compliance with state regulations and documentation standards.

Collaborates closely with courts, legal representatives, and correctional partners and monitors client progress toward stabilization.

Works with public, private, and community organizations to achieve program goals and participates in community needs assessment and planning activities.

Assists in preparing annual budget requirements and monitors expenditures to keep the unit within funding provisions; prepares reports and correspondence on workload statistics, casework, and unit methods.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Two years of post‑license professional experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting providing direct client services, including client assessment and evaluation, treatment planning, psychotherapy or counseling, and indirect services such as consultation and education.

Licensing: Out‑of‑state license holders must obtain a California license within three years of hire; Mental Health Professional Licensing Waiver is available for the interim period.

For the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor option: Six semester units or nine quarter units focused on marriage and family therapy, or a named specialization; no less than 500 hours supervised experience with couples, families, or children; minimum six hours of continuing education specific to marriage and family therapy each renewal cycle.

Valid California Driver’s License required; position may involve occasional travel.
