Job Overview Your role is to empower young people (ages 18–30) with personal experience in social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use, or behavioral challenges to support their recovery and wellness. You will develop and deliver training, skill‑building, and mentorship for youths aged 14–21, promoting independence, inclusion, and quality of life.

Core Responsibilities

Work with young people (ages 14-21) experiencing challenges in home, school, placement, and community to provide outreach, support, guidance, skill‑building, and mentoring.

Provide transportation for the child as required to carry out service plan goals.

Oversee the safety and well‑being of the child.

Maintain and compile data and documentation to be reviewed by supervisor as required.

Ensure positive and effective communication and cooperation within and between department, division, family, and community personnel.

Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.

Use a person‑centered approach.

Adhere to all defined role responsibility and ethics as outlined by the respective Certification Board for Peer Specialists or Advocate.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid New York State Driver’s License.

Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Attest to the respective Certification Board Code of Ethical Conduct for Peer Specialists or Advocate.
