Aerospace Sealants and Analytical Lab Supervisor
PPG Aerospace in Mojave, California, is looking for an on‑site Aerospace Sealants and Analytical Lab Supervisor to lead lab operations and support quality and production goals. In this role you will have a hands‑on opportunity to inspire creativity and collaborate with teams in a dynamic aerospace environment.
This position will work primarily Monday‑Friday on‑site at our Mojave, CA facility and report directly to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
Make decisions on batch adjustments for application properties and physical properties.
Train lab technicians accordingly.
Drive process improvements to reduce cycle time and enhance lab efficiency.
Mentor team members, track performance goals, and foster professional growth.
Communicate and coordinate priorities across shifts.
Champion 6S standards, minimize waste, and collaborate with manufacturing and distribution for on‑time delivery.
Address quality‑related issues, verify customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
Work with customers regarding approvals, test discrepancies, and new test methods.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
Work and supervise the analytical lab for all raw material and in‑process batches.
Qualifications
Two (2) years of supervisory or related leadership experience required.
Three (3) years of previous experience working in a professional or academic lab environment preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Ability to wear required PPE with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Base salary range for this position is $75,000–$90,000 annually. All offer amounts are determined by length/breadth of applicable experience and current departmental pay equity.
