Phlebotomist II
Location Anderson, SC 29621
Employment Type 3+ month contract
Schedule Monday–Thursday 8:00 am–6:30 pm
Pay $18.80 to $21.30 per hour
Job Description Represent the face of our client’s medical facility, drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. Create an atmosphere of trust, confidence and professionalism when explaining procedures and drawing samples efficiently and accurately. Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and patient data accuracy. May be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center or other locations per business needs.
Responsibilities
Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under supervision.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information, initials and signature post‑venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public.
Qualifications
Provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric techniques.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs (weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime).
Commit to policies and procedures, including dress code, health & safety and company principles.
Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
Possess reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
Compose flexible hours to work multiple locations and cover patient service centers/O &I phlebotomy sites with minimal notice.
Handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.
Demonstrate superior customer focus and effective communication with peers, supervisors and patients.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada and Washington.
Work Experience
1–3 years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
2 years in a patient service center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in retail or service environment highly preferred.
