Overview
Join the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Florida’s Treasure Coast as a Registered Nurse in the South Medical Diabetes Unit. The role focuses on med/surg care for patients on insulin drip and involves direct patient and family interaction, education, and participation in committees and conferences.
Work Schedule Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM – 7:17 AM. Caregivers must be able to work up to four weekend shifts in a six‑week period.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
At least one year of current acute care RN experience (licensed military RN experience will be considered).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
Full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
Corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium work – exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or more than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Physical demands exceed those for light work.
