About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Fusion Medical Staffing to find a qualified Operating Room RN in Ukiah, California. You will be part of a dedicated clinical team, delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care while enjoying competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications
OR Nursing Certification (CNOR)
Additional certifications and licenses as required
Essential Work Functions
Prepare the operating room, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready.
Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures, adhering to infection control protocols.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow.
Monitor the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal per facility protocols.
Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to protocols.
Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases.
Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to turnover protocols.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Follow hospital safety rules and PPE and infection prevention measures.
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking and service excellence.
English reading, writing, and communication skills.
Proficiency in PC skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal effectiveness with a variety of personnel.
Technical/motor skill for fine manipulation and movement during procedures.
Mental resilience under pressure and irregular schedules.
Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication.
