ECS Limited offers a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Austin team. The position includes growth opportunities, additional incentives, and the chance to work with experienced professionals to safely perform a variety of tasks in our concrete and soils laboratories.
Responsibilities
Laboratory Activities: Perform complex testing on construction materials, assist with preparation and demonstration of testing procedures, and mentor other lab technicians.
Laboratory Safety and Compliance: Conduct routine tests following industry standards, maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness under QA/QC initiatives, calibrate equipment, and report maintenance needs.
Soils Testing: Perform Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, swell testing, moisture content testing, unconfined compressive strength testing, proctor testing, and begin visual soil classification.
Concrete Testing: Conduct routine tests, label and set samples for curing, monitor temperature logs, and break samples.
Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction, document results accurately using laboratory software, prepare reports and summaries, and complete additional administrative tasks as requested.

Encourage participation in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities (ASTM or other organizations).
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of experience.
Must possess and be willing to maintain laboratory certifications for concrete, soils, or both as required.
Must lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
Willingness to expand knowledge of CMT laboratory equipment, testing methods, and ASTM standards; goal of certifications in soils, concrete, or both with NICET, WACEL, or other organizations.
Strong data interpretation and documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and supervisors.
