Responsibilities of a LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse
Directs day to day operations of a designated nursing unit in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern assisted living facilities.
Provides professional nursing care to residents as ordered by a physician and as requested by assisted living management.
Supervises caregivers and provides direction and education as indicated.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with policy and approved nursing techniques.
Observes residents who are provided professional nursing care, recording significant conditions and reaction to interventions. Notifies the DHS and physician of resident's condition and reaction to interventions as well as significant incidents requiring medical attention.
Requirements of a LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse
Possesses current LPN license from an accredited college or technical school program.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in caring for the elderly.
Psychiatric experience with the elderly preferred.
