UNC Hospitals Rehabilitation Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist with expertise in lymphedema care to join our multidisciplinary team at the Center for Rehabilitation Care in Chapel Hill, NC. This full‑time, onsite position focuses exclusively on providing high‑quality care to adult patients with lymphedema, supporting functional recovery and improving quality of life through evidence‑based, patient‑centered interventions.

Our clinic model prioritizes 60‑minute, one‑on‑one treatment sessions, allowing for individualized care, deeper clinical reasoning, and strong therapeutic relationships. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of experienced therapists and contribute to a supportive and professional environment rooted in excellence, equity and compassion.

Academic and Quality Improvement Involvement:

Engage in clinical education, department initiatives, and quality improvement projects that shape care delivery and improve outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

Patient Care:

Conduct thorough evaluations and implement evidence‑based treatment plans for adults with lymphedema.

Manual Therapy & Compression Techniques:

Utilize complete decongestive therapy (CDT) and other appropriate modalities to manage swelling, improve mobility, and reduce risk of complications.

Documentation & Planning:

Maintain accurate documentation, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans based on clinical findings and patient feedback.

Clinical Collaboration:

Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and therapists to coordinate care and maximize functional outcomes.

Student Supervision:

Contribute to the learning environment by mentoring physical therapy students and participating in clinical education as needed.

Professional Development:

Participate in department meetings, educational sessions, and ongoing learning opportunities to maintain best practices and licensure.

Community Advocacy:

Serve as a clinical resource and participate in outreach efforts that improve access to care and health equity for lymphedema patients.

Other Information

Education Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina; BLS.

Professional Experience Requirements:

No prior experience required.
