Certified MOHS Technician II (Histotechnician/Histotechnologist) - Dermatology

Responsibilities
The Senior MOHS Technician is responsible for providing complex skilled surgical and medical support to the MOHS surgeon with the patients’ care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality as primary concerns.
Conducts daily evaluation of tissue slide preparation to ensure quality compliance.
Prepares for and assists in shaving and punching biopsies and excisions, suture removal and wound care.
Prepares for and assists in cosmetic procedures such as the administration of Botox, various fillers, laser treatments and a variety of peels.
Prepares patients’ charts, forms, instruments, and other equipment as needed for surgery and patient care.
Performs routine housekeeping duties and sterile technique; keeps rooms stocked with supplies and linens.
Rooms patients, takes detailed patient history, and has patient properly draped for the exam and prepares set-up for surgical removal.
Performs other related duties.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited course in Histology or Pathology or supervised training by a registered histotechnologist required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a surgical-based practice, including six (6) months of MOHS experience in tissue grossing and preparing frozen tissue sections.

Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $27.8466 – $41.7699 hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
