Travel Nurse Source is seeking an ICU/Critical Care RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Prescott, Arizona.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications
Preferred Qualifications
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
TNCC, NIHSS certification
Other certifications or licenses as required for the position
Summary The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive critical care to patients in the intensive care unit, including assessing and monitoring critically ill patients, operating life‑support equipment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role requires advanced critical care skills, clinical judgment, communication, and commitment to patient safety.
Essential Work Functions
Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing subtle changes
Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical care nursing techniques
Operate and manage advanced life support equipment
Ensure patient safety and comfort in high‑acuity ICU environments
Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions; notify providers of changes
Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, CVP, PAC)
Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record
Provide education to patients and families regarding ICU environment and recovery expectations
Communicate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies through ongoing education
Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines
Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency
Perform other duties as assigned within scope
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication
Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions; PC skills
Physical ability: stand, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend
Interpersonal: work effectively with diverse personnel, positive attitude
Technical: fine manipulation, assist procedures, use equipment
Mental: handle public contact, meet deadlines, work under supervision or independently, manage irregular schedules
Sensory: visual acuity and communication
