Join our team as an on‑site School Occupational Therapist (OT(R)) in DeKalb, IL.
Position Details
Start Date: March 2026 thru May 2026 covering a scheduled leave of absence.
Hours: Full‑time (37.5 hours/week).
Grade Levels: K‑5 students / Resource and Self‑Contained Classrooms.
Compensation: Starting at $43/hour, commensurate with experience.
Location: 100% Onsite.

Position Overview We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing occupational therapy services to students in PreK‑12 schools, helping them achieve their developmental, educational, and functional goals.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.
Implement evidence‑based occupational therapy interventions to address students’ specific needs and promote skill development.
Monitor and document students’ progress toward goals, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
Provide consultation and support to teachers and other school staff regarding strategies to promote students’ participation and success in the classroom.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for students’ academic and functional needs.
Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of students’ education plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
Must hold a valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in the state in which you are practicing.
Registered with the National Board Certification Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Passionate about working with K‑12 students.
Experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting.
Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric occupational therapy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and computer skills (including email and Microsoft Teams).
Knowledge of sensory integration therapy, handwriting without tears, and other therapeutic modalities (preferred).
