New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.

Salary Hourly: $35.37 - $53.05

Annual: $73,568 - $110,352 (Pay Band C10)

Why does the job exist? Performs nursing duties for Chemical Dependency and Medical Rehabilitation Patients.

How does it get done?

Incumbent will treat and educate patients and the public about various medical conditions, as well as provide emotional support to patients and their families.

Administer direct patient/client care by implementing accepted nursing practices and institutional policies and procedures.

Complete all nursing assessments within 24 hours.

Assess patient/client per shift and report patient/client status at each shift change.

Communicate to physician patient/client progress, change in condition or any problems/concerns timely and efficiently.

Who are the customers? Patients in need of Rehabilitation for Chemical Dependency or Medical Rehabilitation.

Ideal Candidate Know clinical and nursing standards and practices for all ages 18 to 90 plus. Strive to continue learning and be receptive to new information and methodologies. Strive to learn and incorporate management skills in performance of duties.

Minimum Qualification

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure.

Three (3) years of experience related to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Employment Requirements

Safety sensitive designation; subject to pre-employment and random testing per federal and state law regarding alcohol/drug testing.

Conditional after results of criminal background check.

Valid New Mexico Driver's License required.

May be required to work weekends, holidays, overtime and call back hours as needed.

Successful completion of HIPAA training.

Working Conditions Work is of medium to heavy demand. Walking and standing required most of the time. Moderate lifting of patients with assistance essential. Frequent reaching, handling and fingering of instruments and equipment required. Visual and auditory acuity essential. Hours may be variable to meet institutional demands. May be exposed to unpleasant sights, odors, hazardous and infectious agents.

Exposure to emotionally stressful situations and unpredictable behaviors requiring crisis intervention may be required. Position involves work in hospital and office settings with exposure to visual/audio terminal and extensive PC and phone usage.
