Position Summary This role provides direct mental health treatment services to individuals under the care of the Wisconsin DOC, including clinical monitoring of mental health symptoms, intake assessments, psychological assessments, individual and group therapy, risk management, crisis intervention, and on‑call emergency services as assigned.

Opportunities exist for sex‑offender treatment at Racine and Oshkosh, and other positions may focus on dual diagnosis or serious mental illness.

Psychologists consult multidisciplinary staff and may provide staff development and training.

Psychological Associates work under a licensed psychologist’s direction; Psychologists may supervise interns or unlicensed staff.

Salary Information Starting annual salary for a Licensed Psychologist is

$130,062 per year .*

The salary for a Psychological Associate with an Interim Psychologist License is

$106,121 per year **.

The salary for a Psychological Associate (Doctorate) is

$99,881 per year ***.

The salary for a Psychological Associate is

$87,401 per year .

*Salary includes $6.00/hour add‑on for Doctorate and $5.00/hour add‑on for Wisconsin Psychologist License.

**Salary includes $6.00/hour add‑on for Doctorate and $3.00/hour add‑on for Interim Psychologist License.

***Salary includes $6.00/hour add‑on for Doctorate.

Sign‑On Bonus Candidates with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past five years may receive a sign‑on bonus of $3,000, paid in two installments of $1,500 each.

A signed agreement obligates the employee to remain in the occupational area for one year; early departure may require reimbursement.

Job Details Standard hours are Monday‑Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM. Some facilities offer flexibility and occasional remote on‑call duties. The role is FLSA exempt.

Pre‑employment drug screens and background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications All Positions

Experience in treatment and assessment of mental disorders as defined by the DSM.

Master’s Degree Only

Master’s degree in Psychology or a related clinical field from a regionally accredited institution.

Current LPC or LCSW license granted by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Doctorate in Psychology

Doctoral degree in Psychology (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited institution that meets Wisconsin psychologist license requirements, or within four months of completion.

Completed a doctoral internship with at least 1,500 clinical hours supervised by a licensed psychologist, with certificate of completion.

Psychology License

Current Wisconsin Psychologist license from the Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Or, out‑of‑state license with required Wisconsin license obtained by date of appointment.
