Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in East Orange, NJ
A full-semester opportunity is available for a skilled Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to support early childhood development at a Pre‑K program in East Orange, NJ. This contract role begins on January 5, 2026, and concludes June 18, 2026, with a commitment of 35 hours per week.
The position focuses on providing speech and language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 13 students, ages 2 to 4 years. The SLP will be assigned to work at Mt. View Elementary School within the early childhood setting, fostering communication skills during crucial developmental stages.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s speech and language needs.
Deliver direct therapy services targeting speech sound production, language development, and communication skills.
Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student progress.
Monitor and document student performance and adjust plans accordingly.
Provide guidance and support for a caseload of young children with diverse speech and language challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) is highly desired; Certified Clinical Fellows (CFY) are welcome to apply.
Experience in pediatric speech‑language pathology, particularly within early childhood or school settings.
Strong understanding of developmental milestones and early intervention strategies.
Ability to engage effectively with young children and their families.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
