Position Title OB Float Staff Nurse
Location Liberty Hospital
Position Summary Responsible for the delivery of professional nursing services for all phases of obstetrics care from ante- through postpartum, which will address the physical, psycho‑social, spiritual, cultural, developmental, and age‑appropriate needs of each individual patient/family. Accountable for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care within an assigned unit, and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Serves as a nursing resource to the facility with the ability to provide care in a variety of inpatient areas/units.
Responsibilities And Essential Job Functions
Performs patient assessment.
Develops plan of care.
Implements care.
Evaluates plan of care.
Provides nursing intervention.
Assesses patient/family learning needs.
Ensures safety of patients, visitors, colleagues, and self.
Participates in department and hospital quality initiatives.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education And Experience
Graduate of a school of nursing.
1 or more years Labor and Delivery or NICU experience.
Preferred Education And Experience
Bachelor Degree Nursing Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Previous NICU experience.
Required Licensure And Certification
Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing with eligibility to work in the state of MO.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire/transfer.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) upon completion of orientation.
Preferred Licensure And Certification
Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) - National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC)
Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) - National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC)
Low-Risk Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-LRN) - National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC)
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant - International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE)
