About the ICU Martin North Hospital’s Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) provides 24/7 care for critically ill patients. It operates on a shared governance professional practice model that allows for multidisciplinary team collaboration.

Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire or within the first year.
One year of acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Critical care experience.
Physical Requirements
Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
Medium work: exerting 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
Physical demands exceed those of light work.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
