Job Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in the Emergency Department. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN applies nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage,” advocates for patients and families, and supports the department’s mission to provide an unparalleled patient experience.
Responsibilities
Assess pain regularly and manage pain effectively, including reassessments after interventions.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers and document care in the medical record.
Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve issues proactively.
Teach patients/families caregivers about medical condition, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology.
Educate on non‑medicinal follow‑ups such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepare for self‑management.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (RN Diploma) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
Minimum 1 year applicable experience in an ER or acute setting.
Active RN license in the state(s) of practice or an active compact license.
Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment start date.
