For over 20 years, Avid4 Adventure has empowered kids to live active outdoor lifestyles through our unique outdoor programming. We are hiring Camp Nurses for our two Colorado Overnight Camps: Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1-5) in Evergreen, CO and Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6-12) in Bailey, CO. As a home away from home, we provide a safe space for campers to truly be themselves and our Camp Nurses play a vital role in creating this environment.

Important Details

Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. You will work regular clinic hours during camp sessions, but are expected to be available on-call to support time‑sensitive camper and staff medical needs.

Position Duration: Training will take place virtually on May 27th, before camp starts. Camps run May 31 through July 31.

Compensation:

Parent Nurses: If you choose to have one or more campers attend our camp, $600/week plus one week of camp per week of trade! (must sign up to work a minimum of two weeks excluding the week of 6/27‑7/4).

Non‑Parent Nurses: $1,188/week. Must be available for a minimum of 4 weeks consecutively either at the beginning or halfway through the season.

In this role you will

Oversee the collection, storage and administration of medications to campers and staff following the policies of Avid4 Adventure, State of Colorado, American Camp Association, and local Health Agencies.

Partner closely with the Assistant Director of Operations and Clinic Supervisor to maintain overall clinical administration and operations and keep the health clinic in compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Assist in a general health screening of all campers and staff during the summer, including inspection of cabins, unit areas, showers, bathrooms and observation of general camper and staff health.

Assist in the organization and administration of regular daily clinic hours, utilizing the current standing orders for issuing treatment and medications.

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records via our electronic medical record-keeping system, CampDoc.

Provide direct care to both campers and staff to ensure the wellbeing of all camp residents.

Provide emotional support to campers and staff who are experiencing homesickness, bullying, or other behavioral aspects that affect one’s stay at camp.

Engage with the campers and staff and be part of the camp experience.

Your Background

Desire to work in a residential camp-based clinic serving children and staff is a must!

Must be 21 years of age or older by the start of camp.

Current CO Registered Nurse license or licensure in a compact state that is recognized by the State of Colorado. We are unable to accept LPN licenses.
