Role Description This full-time role, based in Hampton, VA and serving clients from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront to Greater Richmond, requires a skilled and compassionate Case Manager to work directly with adult survivors of human trafficking. The Case Manager will work primarily with criminalized victims, providing individualized support plans, connecting clients to resources, providing ongoing advocacy, and facilitating access to essential services. Key responsibilities include victim identification and needs assessments, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, coordinating with community partners, and supporting clients through their recovery journey while respecting their autonomy and dignity.
Qualifications
Understanding of trauma-informed practices and experience working with vulnerable populations is highly valued, including victims or crime, incarcerated individuals and people with a history of trauma and/or addiction
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field preferred; commensurate experience will be considered
Skills in case management, social services, and assessing client needs
Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with clients and community partners/other service providers
Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening abilities
Organizational and documentation skills to ensure accurate record‑keeping and reporting
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
Commitment to the mission of Freekind and passionate advocacy for survivors of trafficking
Reliable transportation and ability to travel regionally, and out‑of‑area on occasion
