Research Technician 2 Department: Arts and Sciences | Molecular Genetics Administration

Responsibilities

Assist in experiments involving yeast genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and image processing and analysis.

Conduct routine laboratory maintenance, including ordering lab supplies, preparing culture media and plates, and keeping glassware clean and sterilized.

Work as part of a one‑year term position with the possibility of renewal based on performance, laboratory needs, and availability of funding.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in research technician work, assisting experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related area; or one year of full‑time equivalent research experience in STEM areas during college education.

Additional Information The Department of Molecular Genetics, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Technician to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university, hosting 81 majors across 38 departments and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members. Salary Range: $15.86 to $20.74 per hour.

Location: Riffe Building (0266)

Position Type: Term (Fixed Term)

Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift: First Shift
