Job Summary Meduflex is MUSC Charleston’s inpatient Float Pool, supporting a wide range of patient care units across the downtown campus. Spanning 10 specialized zones and serving both Adult and Pediatric populations, the team offers Registered Nurses (RNs) flexible scheduling and additional float differential pay. In this dynamic zone, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to float between multiple emergency departments—including the Main Hospital ED (1 West), Ashley River Tower ED (Chest Pain Center), Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital ED, and the Psychiatric ED (DPod). This role offers a fast‑paced, rewarding environment where you’ll develop a broad skill set while providing critical care to diverse patient populations across all ages and specialties.

15 FTE: 1‑12 hour shift/2 weeks
3 FTE: 1‑12 hour shift/week
6 FTE: 2‑12 hour shifts/week
75 FTE: 2‑12 hour shifts/week one & 3‑12 hour shifts/week two
9 FTE: 3‑12 hour shifts/week
Job Summary/Purpose Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Minimum Training and Education Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of one year of emergency department work experience as a registered nurse is required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within 2 years and complete within four years of hire date. Employees are required to sign an agreement regarding the education requirement.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Ability to climb stairs (infrequent). Ability to work indoors (continuous) and outside in temperature extremes (infrequent). Ability to work from elevated areas (frequent).
