Job Summary Full‑time, nights (7 pm–7 am). Night shift, United States of America.
Responsibilities
Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical and critical thinking to ensure individualized care.
Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care adapted to population characteristics and cultural diversity.
Partners with patients and significant others, using appropriate communication methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, timely teaching, and keeping patients’ goals at the center of the plan of care.
Practices using current clinical practice standards.
Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes a respectful, inclusive environment and includes interdisciplinary communication, timely documentation and promotion of fiscal responsibility.
Demonstrates teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner to promote recruitment and retention of the healthcare team.
Participates and supports performance improvement, research utilization and shared governance at all levels.
Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education, and serves as preceptor or mentor as needed.
Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research and performance improvement, engages in value analysis and data collection, and consults experts to answer practice questions.
Upholds all system policies, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements, such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar safety absolutes.
Proactively plans for patient care across the continuum and supports efficient use of human and material resources.
Participates in protocol and procedure development to achieve best‑practice outcomes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education
Associate’s Nursing or Bachelor’s Nursing – Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)
RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – Multi‑state Compact
BLS – Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor
Required Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years of RN experience required; direct patient care experience preferred.
Required Minimum Skills Reading, writing and speaking English; effective use of electronic health record technology and basic computer skills; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills coupled with customer‑service orientation; ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond calmly to emergencies; excellent time‑management, analytical and evidence‑based nursing skills; strong critical thinking.
