Registered Nurse I (Spring 2026 New Grad Blitz) - Main Adult Emergency Room
The MUSC Adult Emergency Department is a Level 1 Trauma Center with 42 treatment areas including four trauma bays. We are a dynamic and fast‑paced department that oversees >50,000 cases annually. With a dedicated CT scanner and an X‑ray machine within our unit, we can quickly diagnose and treat patients. We are also a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Accredited Chest Pain Center, and the Designated Burn Center for the region. With MUSC rapidly expanding across the state, we proudly serve surrounding communities for all their acute healthcare needs. As a Registered Nurse in our department, you will work alongside a diverse healthcare team that utilizes research and best practice to provide utmost patient care. Job Summary/Purpose : Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal‑directed nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process; collaborates with healthcare team members to achieve desired outcomes.
Minimum Training and Education : Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma in nursing must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire or reclassification.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations : Licensure as a RN by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent).
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to stand, sit, and walk continuously.
Ability to climb stairs and work indoors and outdoors.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Requires 20/40 corrected vision and normal hearing.
Must tolerate stress and work rotating shifts.
