Position Summary Responds to physician orders for physical therapy. Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients. Reviews patient charts and progress prior to treatment and modifies treatment plan accordingly. Develops functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations. Improves and restores functional mobility, seeking to return patient to highest level of independence. Seeks clarification of physician orders as needed.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
Preferred Education:
Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.
Minimum Experience:
No previous work experience necessary. After completion of 3 full years/beginning of 4th year may be eligible for Physical Therapist Level II.
Preferred Experience:
Clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient care, as well as marketing and business familiarity. Spanish proficiency.
Required Certifications/License:
Possession of current Texas State license prior to orientation (new graduates) and current Texas State license for all others.

Required Courses/Completions:
Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
Responsibilities
Interprets physician orders and requests interpretation as necessary.
Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients.
Reviews patient chart and progress prior to treatment and modifies the treatment plan accordingly.
Develops realistic functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations.
Uses appropriate modalities and procedures correctly demonstrating knowledge of indications and contraindications.
