We are seeking a full‑time Mobile Crisis Response Clinician. The role provides intervention services as a member of a community‑based crisis response team serving clients and families in Kent County. The clinicians complete psycho‑social risk assessments in crisis situations, provide crisis intervention services, and coordinate services with police, courts, schools, and other community agencies.
This position is 40 hours a week, working first shift (8:00 am to 6:00 pm) and mid‑shift (10:00 am to 8:00 pm) on a four‑week rotating schedule. The individual works one weekend a month (7 am–5 pm) and has holiday requirements. There are no on‑call duties. This assignment is in‑person at 790 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or psychology, counseling, or counseling psychology.
Limited or full licensure in Michigan as a licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychologist; or be eligible for a limited license and obtain it within three (3) months of hire.
Thorough working knowledge of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis.
Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice.
Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry.
Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and bridge language/cultural barriers to services within diverse communities.
Available for on‑call services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a rotating basis.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for job‑related use.
Completion of a thorough law enforcement background investigation for GRPD Co‑response and 911 Crisis Call Diversion positions.
Preferred Qualifications
Full licensure as a licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychologist.
One year of community‑based crisis intervention experience.
Specialized training and at least one year of experience with minors and their families.
Credentialed through the Michigan Certificate Board for Addiction Professionals.
Three years of post‑graduate experience.
Lived experience with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders.
