Responsibilities:
Assist and support scientific investigation studying psychoneuroimmunology in gut‑brain communication after cancer treatments.
Independently conduct assigned experiments and perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques, including PCR reactions, immunoassays, and cell cultures.
Sort and process tissue and blood samples; execute laboratory rodent experiments, including advanced behavioral testing.
Record, consolidate, and assist with analysis of research results; evaluate validity of data obtained.
Assist in developing, implementing, and training for new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques.
Summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare research progress reports.
Assist principal investigator with preparing publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts.
Conduct library research on requested topics and research current literature; perform critical analysis of relevant literature.
Oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities; assist with training of junior research staff, undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
Set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supply, inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
0–1 year(s) of relevant experience.
Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research.
Successful completion of a background check; a drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
