Objectives
Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide hands‑on, patient-centered physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
Document progress notes and comply with clinic protocols and standards.
Collaborate with a team of chiropractors, medical doctors, acupuncturists, Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) and massage therapists for integrated care.
Educate patients on injury prevention, pain management, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Patients accept the recommended treatment plan taking into account the different services.
Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Document and submit records and Medical Necessity Reports when required.
Track and monitor KPIs.
Competencies
Patient Evaluation & Assessment – Ability to perform thorough physical exams and functional assessments.
Treatment Planning – Develop evidence-based and individualized treatment plans.
Manual Therapy Techniques – Skilled in hands‑on treatments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function.
Therapeutic Exercise Prescription – Design and monitor corrective exercise programs.
Pain Management – Utilize a variety of non-pharmacological approaches to relieve pain.
Rehabilitation & Post-Surgical Care – Experience in guiding recovery from orthopedic, sports, and neurological injuries.
Use of Modalities – Proficiency with ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, cold/heat therapy, etc.
Documentation & EMR Proficiency – Accurate and timely charting using electronic medical records (EMR).
Collaboration – Ability to work closely with physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and other providers.
Patient Education – Teach patients about their condition, treatment plan, and self-care strategies.
Communication Skills – Clear verbal and written communication with patients and team members.
Time Management – Efficient in managing caseload and maintaining on-time appointments.
Cultural Competence – Sensitive to diverse patient populations common in Los Angeles.
Ethical Practice – Complies with California PT Board regulations and maintains patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
Adaptability – Able to adjust to various patient needs and evolving clinic protocols.
Education and Experience
Active California Physical Therapist License in good standing (required).
New graduates are welcome.
Experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, or integrative care is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
BLS/CPR certification is required, or ability to obtain it upon hire.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the workday.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to assist patients with exercises and mobility.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (e.g., assisting patients, moving equipment).
Manual dexterity to perform hands‑on therapy techniques and operate clinical tools.
Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to observe patient responses, read documentation, and communicate effectively.
Must be able to assist with patient transfers and ambulation when necessary.
Capable of sustained physical activity in a fast-paced, multi-provider clinic setting.
May require occasional reaching and stretching to access supplies or perform therapeutic tasks.
