Staff Nurse
Location: Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Full‑time
Overview: RN, FT, Piedmont Columbus Midtown
Responsibilities: The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate from a nursing program (Required)
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Work Experience
No experience required; New Graduates of a nursing program eligible (Required)
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting (Preferred)
1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure. Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. (Required)
BCLS – Basic Life Support (Required)
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Addendum (Specialty‑specific certifications)
Cardiac Tele – ACLS Certification within 180 days (Required)
Critical Care – ACLS Certification within 180 days (Required)
Dialysis – CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred
Emergency Department – ACLS and PALS Certification within 180 days (Required); Experienced ED nurses 6 months to obtain PALS
Infusion/Oncology – Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Required)
Pediatrics – PALS Certification required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital within 180 days; PEARS or PALS Certification required at Piedmont Athens Hospital (Required)
Surgical Services – PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Required within 180 days); BLS required only within 180 days (Required)
Women’s Services – Labor and Delivery ACLS Certification within 180 days; NRP by end of orientation; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months; NICU NRP by end of orientation; NAT NRP by end of orientation; Nursery NRP by end of orientation (Required within 180 days)
