We are searching for a talented Cardiac Surgical First Assist to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery Program. Hours:

Full-time – based on 44 hours – 24 & 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, weekends and holidays

Shift:

Day, evening, night shifts; weekend, holiday rotation

Location:

Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA

Responsibilities

Under direction of the Chief Department of Cardiovascular Surgery or designee, perform duties in being responsible for evaluation, care and management of patients with vascular disease in an outpatient clinic setting or inpatient ward setting under the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts governing Physician Assistant practice.

Evaluate and care for vascular patients in the Out-Patient Department.

Provide clinical coverage 24/7 utilizing in house on call scheduling.

Assume immediate coordination of assigned personnel and activities.

Qualifications

Physician Assistant: Bachelors Degree in a related field is required.

Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required.

Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required.

Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required.

Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required. Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.

Nurse Practitioner Certificate/Physician Assistant Certificate is required.

Duties require the ability to care for critically ill adult patients with a wide range of medical problems.

Position responsibilities require the maturity, self-confidence and ability to follow complex patient management plans as directed by the Attending Physician.

Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants within one year of hire.

Must be qualified in all basic and advanced cardiac support standards.

Eligible for state and federal controlled substances registration.

Pay Range

USD $64.00 - USD $74.00 /Hr.
