The Impact You Will Make
The Staff Accountant supports the Northridge Site Finance and Accounting department and is responsible for ensuring accounting transactions are processed and posted accurately and timely in a variety of areas. It is essential that the candidate brings strong analytical and organizational skills to best support the NR Finance team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare monthendjournal entries manually & review for anomalies & inconsistencies
Prepare monthly inventory account reconciliations and identify why any unreconciled variances exist
Analyze and evaluate weekly manufacturing variances including PPV, labor/OH absorption, and inventory valuation and implement timely adjustments. Collaborate with the manufacturing operations to analyze variance and drive improvements.
Assist in developing standard costs for materials, labor and overhead
Prepare monthendjournal entries manually & review for anomalies & inconsistencies
Prepare monthly inventory account reconciliations and identify why any unreconciled variances
Assist in developing an inventory reserve and perform monthly analysis
Develop plant expense guidelines to ensure correct classification of controlled expenses
Assist in budget and forecast preparation and ensure timely completion
Assist with annual financial audits as it relates to inventory and standard costs
Perform cost-benefit analyses as needed
Perform review/audit of cycle count process with Supply Chain quarterly
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements
Support monthly and year-end financial close
Support for year-end financial audit
Monitor policies and procedures for compliance and suggest modifications and improvements
Maintain effective internal controls and compliance with accounting standards and procedures
Ad hoc reporting and projects as required
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in accounting/finance or related field.
Public accounting experience with a CPA certificate
2+ years relevant work experience in accounting or cost accounting in private sector
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics (D365)
Able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Able to communicate with professionals at all levels and with various professional backgrounds
