Overview Vanguard Landing is looking for caring, dependable, and enthusiastic direct support professionals (DSPs) to provide day‑to‑day support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a hands‑on, rewarding role where your presence makes a meaningful difference every day. Starting pay range: $15–$20 per hour. Hiring for start dates from February to August 2026. Morning shift: 7:00 am–3:15 pm.
What You'll Do
Assist residents and day participants with daily routines, personal care, and hygiene, redirecting as needed to ensure proper cleanliness and dress.
Support residents with their Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress.
Help residents follow their schedules regarding transportation, recreational activities, appointments and errands.
Participate in training and maintain required certifications.
Ensure clean, safe, and welcoming living environments.
Respond to crisis situations and follow emergency protocols when needed.
Assist with medication administration and documentation under supervision and provide mobility support as required.
Encourage independence, social interaction, and skill‑building opportunities.
Engage in excellent, empowering, and respectful interactions with all residents and fellow employees. Vanguard Landing has a zero‑tolerance policy regarding distractions from cell‑phone use, neglect, dishonesty, and overall care of our residents.
What We're Looking For
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to supporting individuals with dignity.
Organized, able to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 6 months of experience in caregiving or completion of a relevant certification (e.g., CNA, PCA, HHA).
Ability to lift and assist individuals using proper body mechanics, if needed.
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with Individualized Service Plan documentation.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
Medication management training.
