Job Description Dental Hygienists play an essential role in patient education and preventive dental care while also working in partnership with our doctors. We offer a work environment that is supportive and provides opportunities to learn about a variety of technologies. Our Hygienists focus on building relationships with patients and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Perform hygiene clinical procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, sealants, fluoride, oral cancer screenings and x‑rays.

Educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene, and demonstrate effective oral hygiene methods.

Communicate with the doctor regarding opportunities for restorative and/or periodontal treatment for patients.

Obtain and review dental history and patient records, and ensure the health history is updated for all returning patients.

Qualifications

Degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license.

X‑ray/Radiology Certification where state regulations specify.

Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide certification where state regulations specify.

Physical & Working Environment This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood‑borne pathogens is possible. It requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day, as well as carrying, transporting, and using tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
