Essential Functions & Requirements
Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices.
Assists in segregation of chemicals by DOT hazard class and packs/unpacks compatible chemicals into appropriate containers.
Completes logs and documentation for tracking and billing.
Tests compatibility of chemicals prior to consolidating for disposal.
Receives shipments of waste materials by unloading drums.
Maintains operating areas in a clean and safe condition.
Operates and performs inspections for forklift, bobcat, and other company vehicles as needed.
Utilizes introductory knowledge of hazardous chemicals and waste management practices.
Handles hazardous materials and utilizes appropriate PPE.
Takes on additional duties as needed.
Education
Bachelor's degree (required); science-related discipline (preferred).
40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (preferred).
Experience
4+ years of related environmental waste experience (required).
Prior lab packing experience (preferred).
Competencies
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Ability to develop a working knowledge of all relevant laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate required machinery/equipment.
Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Regular and predictable attendance.
