Job Summary The Moskowitz Laboratory (https://moskowitzlab.uchicago.edu/) seeks a Research Assistant I to become a member of the laboratory team.

The Laboratory studies gene regulatory networks that control organ development and adult organ homeostasis, performing discovery of fundamental developmental and homeostatic gene regulatory principles.

The position involves both basic technical support and independent advancement of scientific research projects.

Employees will comply with all institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, assist in drafting presentations on research findings, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This at‑will position is funded by a contractual grant; employment is contingent upon continued receipt of grant funds and satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities

Provide technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment, performing basic laboratory techniques, research, and analysis under direction.

Perform routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.

Collect and enter data, assist in data analysis, and help prepare reports, manuscripts, and other documents.

Comply with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.

Perform other related work as needed.

Education Minimum requirements: vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a related field (a four‑year degree is not typically required).

Technical Skills or Knowledge

ChIP‑seq, ATAC‑seq, GRO‑seq, and RNA‑seq

CRISPR genetic engineering

Rapid protein degradation using Degron system

Bioinformatics

Cardiac functional analyses

Mouse genetics

Lentivirus transduction

Cell culture experience

Protein‑protein interaction analysis using mass spectrometry
