Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Pediatric Primary Care Clinic – Jeff Hwy
Join Ochsner Children’s to provide direct care (including IV therapy) to pediatric patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse. You will direct and assist ancillary nursing staff, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and maintain the highest quality personalized patient care.
Job Duties
Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning, and evaluation.
Provides care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Communicates professionally with all patients, guests, family members, and co‑workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
Adapts rapidly to changes in the unit/department as needs evolve.
Manages personal professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
– High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
– None required.
Licenses & Certifications
– Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred: IV Therapy Credentials.
Physical and Environmental Demands The role requires the ability to lift 50–100 pounds occasionally and 25–50 pounds frequently, with exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area where exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications is a risk.
