Part Time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner
CareMed Health Solutions is a facility‑based team of medical providers who deliver services to residents in long‑term care facilities. We strive to give quality care while working collaboratively with each facility’s team to achieve the best outcomes for patients. In this role you will play a critical part in improving the lives and wellbeing of the elderly.
Role Overview We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long‑term care facilities.
Responsibilities
Provide wound care services for long‑term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with KS Law.
Order, review, and/or follow‑up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
Communicate with nursing home staff regularly and as needed to discuss changes in condition and/or the care plan.
Collaborate with the primary care physician.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Kansas.
Board Certification.
DEA licensure (Optional).
Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
Clinical background in wound care, including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
Comfortable diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed‑etiology wounds or Kennedy ulcers.
Comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP.
Familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products (collagen, alginate, foams, silvers, etc.).
Experience with wound vacs and other DME (e.g., pressure‑relieving devices).
Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Experience working in a long‑term care setting.
Ability to work with an EMR.
Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
