VUH Inpatient Float Pool Job Summary
The Critical Care Registered Nurse Float will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Float Critical Care RN effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team; collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Further your professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. * Relocation stipend for eligible new hires. Department Summary
Float Pool Critical Care Nurses provide specialty services throughout the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Adult Hospital, including Critical Care units, PACU, ED, Step-Down, and Med-Surg areas. Flexibility is a key job requirement for the Float Pool, as our highly skilled staff must be placed where the need is greatest. Supplemental staffing provides a crucial service for our customers, not only to ensure safe quality patient care, but provides support for our unit colleagues as well. Position Shift
* Nightshift 7PM - 7AM (36 hours/week). * This is a full-time role with premium pay. Key Responsibilities
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum. Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis. Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes. Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment. The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. Evidence-Based Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to search for evidence to answer clinical questions. Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments while ensuring quality outcomes. Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Proficient in providing patient education for moderate difficulty clinical scenarios. Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Demonstrates competence in assessing patients, identifying problems, and coordinating with the healthcare team. Nursing Philosophy
