Practice Overview Thompsonville Veterinary Clinic is a full-service mixed animal clinic and welcomes patients in need of routine medical checkups, routine surgery, and preventative care. Our whole staff have years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care.
We also offer a variety of services for your large animal needs, including vaccinations, dewormers, Veterinary Feed Directives, and farm calls.

Our small, rural practice has a family feel, so you'll find our support staff is available to assist doctors in whatever manner you prefer. We treat dogs and cats, but welcome any species that can be trailer into our facility (no farm calls!) Our patients deserve the best care available, and to do that we treat our patients inhouse for exams, surgery, and labwork; then can refer more complex cases to our sister practice in nearby Marion IL where they have more expansive diagnostic equipment.

Essential Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
Maintain patients' medical records.
Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
