Job Description American Traveler is seeking an RN with pediatric and PICU experience for night shifts in an acute care setting, requiring a ND or compact RN license and PALS certification.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute hospital setting on a 17-bed pediatric unit including both PICU and general pediatric floors
Care for pediatric patients requiring interventions such as continuous nebs, bipap, insulin drips for DKA, and general pediatric care
PICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2; general pediatrics is 1:3 or 1:4
Float to NICU (grower/feeder assignments), OB (helping hands), or housewide for 1:1 sitter needs as required
Uses Epic EMR (EpicCare Inpatient)
12-hour night shifts from 1830-0700, 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday required
Responsible for managing both critical care PICU and general pediatric patients as census fluctuates
May assist in other units as needed based on patient volume or safety requirements
Travelers typically receive a couple of orientation shifts prior to starting regular assignments
Dress code requires navy blue scrubs or child-friendly colorful scrub tops with navy blue pants
Not accepting local candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility
Requirements
Active ND or compact state RN license required for consideration
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
Minimum 1 year of pediatric RN experience with ability to care for patients in both PICU and general pediatric settings
Must disclose any previous employment at any Sanford Health location
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
