Overview
Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Preadmission Testing Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Piedmont Augusta. The preadmission testing position works Monday through Friday 08:00‑16:30 / 09:30‑18:00, offering a consistent and flexible lifestyle. Responsibilities
Perform pre‑anesthesia screening assessments to determine if a patient is optimized for the planned anesthetic. Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries. Assign ASA Physical Status Score. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in the patient’s medical record, including airway assessments, Mallampati score, and heart and lung sounds. Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. Write progress notes; prepare patient work‑ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Develop plans of care that minimize complications and troubleshoot problems when they arise, applying preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. Collaborate with anesthesiologists to develop a strong working knowledge of pre‑anesthesia testing protocols and guidelines. Piedmont Benefits

Masters or Bachelors degree from an accredited PA program and National Board Certification. Or licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as an NP by the State of Georgia with National Certification.
