Position Overview:
Located just four miles from Fort Lauderdale’s beaches, Dayton-Granger, Inc. designs, manufactures, and supplies aircraft antennas, lightning protection systems, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) products supporting commercial, general aviation, and military programs. We are seeking a
Receiving Inspector
to join our Quality team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, hardware, and components to ensure conformance with engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will review supplier documentation, perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring tools, and ensure materials are ready for production. If you have experience in receiving or inspection within a manufacturing environment and enjoy working in a detail-driven, regulated setting, this is an excellent long-term opportunity. Prior aerospace experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Unpack and inspect incoming goods, purchased materials, parts, and processed items
Verify packing slips, certifications, and supplier documentation for accuracy and compliance
Inspect materials using blueprints, specifications, and established procedures to determine acceptance or rejection
Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other hand measurement tools
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of received materials
Document inspection results clearly and accurately in internal systems
Communicate discrepancies or non-conformances with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and Production
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Support additional Quality or Receiving activities as needed
Follow all company safety, quality, and compliance procedures
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in receiving inspection, quality inspection, or a manufacturing inspection role
Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprint drawings and specifications
Familiarity with quality documentation, supplier certifications, and test reports
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, PDFs); ERP experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs
Required vision capabilities: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Preferred Qualifications/Nice-To-Have:
Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments
Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality systems (working knowledge preferred)
Experience using ERP systems such as Infor, Oracle, or similar manufacturing systems
