The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works within an interdisciplinary team providing health care services within a community based health center. This position must be able to work well in a team oriented environment and have experience working with vulnerable individuals experiencing serious and chronic mental health and addiction issues.
Schedule: Day shift, Tuesday-Saturday
Essential Job Functions
Initial and follow up psychiatric evaluations/assessments
Comprehensive mental status exams and risk assessments
Provides monitoring and follow-up of all referrals.
Prescribes psychotropic medication and manages psychotropic treatment as needed for enrolled clients.
Provide crisis intervention as directed.
Discusses and creates Treatment Plans with clients.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Education and Certification
Master of Science in Nursing and a post‑master’s certificate with license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
3-5 years of clinical, psychopharmacology and direct service provision with minority communities, communities at risk and families affected by HIV/AIDS, mental illness and substance abuse.
Working experience with group facilitation, psychopathology/psychotherapy, and differential diagnosis.
Intermediate to advance knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Experience working with PLWHA population and social service systems in New York City.
Job Type: Full‑time
Pay: $135,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
