Segula Technologies is seeking a Lead Industrial Engineer for Internal Logistics Engineering to support new product introductions at a major OEM facility. This role focuses on optimal material delivery methodology of both automatic and manual delivery—ensuring production lines meet performance, no downtime due to material shortage and ramp-up in collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team on developing Optimal Internal Logistics network for new Product Introduction and continuous Improvement projects for following material delivery strategies which will include but not be limited to:
Tier 1 Module delivery
Sequence commodities
Kitting Strategy
Bulk Delivery and Small Lot
Train the team in customer new product introduction process and guide the team in developing the layout of warehouse, staging and storage areas
Perform long lead or front end engineering for logistics processes which includes estimating automation, surface area, docks and equipment requirements.
Support program team with special studies for cost justification.
Present the station readiness plan to steering committee and to the customer.
Present the logistics and station design to the core launch team which will include product, engineering, industrial engineering and operational team members.
Lead simulation and bottleneck analysis to identify improvement opportunities and eliminate constraints.
Provide direction to Station Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to implement design and process improvements.
Lead or participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) workshops and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Track and report launch metrics including cycle time adherence, first-time quality, downtime, and throughput performance.
Support pilot builds, tool tryouts, and process validation during pre-production phases.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related discipline) or relevant work experience in logistics engineering for high volume manufacturing companies.
5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing or assembly environment.
Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel for line layouts and analysis.
Experience with warehousing and material delivery strategies including automation and AMR
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting vehicle launch, retooling, or model change programs.
Experience with external logistics methodologies.
Working knowledge of throughput simulation and material flow optimization.
