Overview
The controller will be responsible for consolidations and month-end closing processes of the bank. The role requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in financial consolidations, regulatory reporting, and ensuring compliance and accounting standards. The controller will lead the month-end closing activities, manage financial consolidations across multiple entities, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting processes.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, variances, and potential risks.
Develop and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
Support the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Continuously improve consolidations and reporting processes through automation and best practices.
Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team in areas of financial reporting, consolidations, and month-end activities.
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, banking regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial reporting and consolidations, and month-end closing within the banking or financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements specific to banking.
Proven experience with financial consolidation software (e.g., Hyperion, Oracle FCCS, SAP BPC) is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communicating skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop a team.
Preferred Skills
Experience with banking products, financial instruments, and risk management.
Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards.
