STS Technical Services is hiring a

Supplier Quality Engineer

to support advanced manufacturing and supplier quality initiatives in

Troy, Michigan . This role focuses on Advanced Product Quality Planning execution and direct supplier engagement across a global supply base.

Position Overview As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will lead the execution of APQP processes while ensuring supplier compliance with Company quality standards. This role requires a proactive, hands‑on approach to identifying risk, resolving quality issues, and strengthening supplier performance across launch, production, and change implementation phases.

You will work cross‑functionally to drive corrective actions, verify on‑site implementation, and ensure quality plans protect both Company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Execute the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for assigned suppliers

Review program progress against milestones and identify and mitigate risks

Ensure supplier compliance with APQP deliverables including PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, and Run at Rate verification

Conduct program reviews, track achievements, and elevate issues as appropriate

Ensure the supply base adheres to Company quality and manufacturing standards

Identify and react to out‑of‑standard conditions and work cross‑functionally to resolve issues

Provide technical support and continuous improvement guidance to suppliers during launch and ongoing production

Travel to supplier manufacturing sites to verify robust quality plans and corrective actions

Verify on‑site implementation of corrective actions and ensure lessons learned are shared across applicable suppliers

Escalate issues across functions and engage senior leadership when required to drive results

Perform other related duties as assigned, including public charging support

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a technical focus such as Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, or Physics

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality or Engineering within automotive production or EV charger related products

Experience with circuit board manufacturing or other electrical components

Proficient in print reading, part measurement, and gage design and function

Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, tooling, equipment, and facilities

Knowledge of probability, statistical quality control, and design of experiments

Ability to investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment to develop solutions

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to collaborate across all organizational levels

Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and professional judgment

Ability to work effectively from remote locations including supplier sites, Company facilities, and home offices

Travel & Work Arrangement

Ability to travel up to 40–50 percent to supplier manufacturing sites

Suppliers are primarily located in Asia including Taiwan, China, and Thailand

This role is categorized as hybrid or remote, with hybrid candidates expected to report to a designated location at least three times per week, or as directed by management
