Position Summary The Distribution Team Lead/Receiving clerk is a key operational role responsible for managing day‑to‑day shipping and receiving functions, while leading and developing team members to ensure optimal performance and process adherence. With deep subject matter expertise in warehouse and distribution (WDL) functions, this role provides hands‑on support across departments, ensuring continuity of operations during absences and disruptions.

Responsibilities

Leading and training the WDL team on current and new processes.

Oversee daily shipping functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of shipments.

SME on all WDL functions; back up department in all areas when needed and cover call‑offs or scheduled time off.

Communicate any discrepancies and/or performance issues to the Distribution Manager in a timely manner.

Apply company policies and procedures to team members.

Floor presence 75% of the time.

Schedule the work while in process, taking responsibility for quality and efficiency.

Communicate company policies, procedures, and methods to associates as required.

Support facilities projects on a regular basis.

Create a safe work environment by ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed, promptly addressing safety hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement of safety.

Ensure quality requirements are met throughout the shipping/receiving process.

Problem‑solve and implement corrective actions for shipping/receiving issues that develop during the shift.

Maintain strong teamwork and effective communication between associates, shifts, and plant leaders.

Ensure team capability and flexibility through training and operational support.

Coordinate machine repair and preventive maintenance with maintenance technicians.

Identify opportunities for improvement through lean practices such as inventory reduction, lead‑time reduction, and cost of manufacturing.

Ensure associates are engaged and participating in continuous improvement efforts.

Responsible for any other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership communication skills (verbal & written).

Systemic‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.

Functional PC skills (MS Office, including Excel, databases).

Prior distribution leadership experience in a team environment.

Talent management and motivational skills.

5 + years of manufacturing and/or distribution experience preferred.

5 + years of workplace leadership or prior supervisory experience preferred.

High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

75% of the time on feet.

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Ability to lift over 50 lbs with proper lifting devices.

Repetitive movements such as twisting/bending, hand gripping are required.

The pay range for this role is $24.00 – $28.00/hr and is commensurate on experience and education and could pay more or less than the posted range. This full‑time position is eligible for paid time off, 401(k), and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision.

This position may require access to United States export‑controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of U.S. State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, asylees or others eligible to receive U.S. export license authorizations. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
